Founder and CEO of the Classical Learning Test
Jeremy Wayne Tate is the founder and CEO of the Classical Learning Test (CLT), a nationally recognized alternative to the SAT/ACT. Mr. Tate is widely regarded as a leader in the revival of classical education, advocating for an educational model rooted in truth, goodness, beauty, and the great works of Western civilization. The Classic Learning Test (CLT) aims to help restore this vision through the evaluation of knowledge and virtue. As the old testing standards are no longer strong predictors of college success, the CLT has grown in interest and use among K-12 schools and higher institutions. To date, over 350 colleges and universities across the United States and abroad, including all U.S. Military Service Academies and 6 state university systems (AR, FL, GA, IN, NC, & TX), recognize the value of the CLT, and the excellence of CLT and CLT10 test takers. Differences in the CLT testing standards include not allowing students to use a calculator.
A graduate of Louisiana State University and Reformed Theological Seminary, Mr. Tate previously served as a college counselor before launching CLT in 2015. He lives in Annapolis, Maryland, with his wife and six children.

Please join us at the Winter Night Club on Tuesday, October 13, for what promises to be a fascinating and memorable evening with retired General John E. Hyten, former Vice Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff.
General Hyten spent nearly four decades serving our country in the United States Air Force, rising to become the nation’s second highest-ranking military officer. Along the way, he commanded both U.S. Strategic Command and Air Force Space Command, giving him extraordinary firsthand experience with nuclear deterrence, space operations, emerging technology, and the most important national-security challenges facing America.
General Hyten also has deep ties to Colorado, having served in senior leadership positions at Peterson, Schriever, and Cheyenne Mountain.
His perspective is especially timely as the United States confronts rapid technological change, growing international competition, and new challenges in space and national defense.

Winter Night Club 125th Anniversary Celebration
Please join us on Thursday, January 14, 2027, as The Winter Night Club celebrates 125 years of fellowship, thoughtful conversation, and community tradition.
Our story began with two small dinner clubs—the Mahogany Club and the Red Mahogany Club—whose members gathered in private homes to share a meal and lead discussions. In 1902, that spirit inspired the creation of The Winter Night Club, which held its first regular meeting on December 10 of that year.
Early members included General William J. Palmer, Spencer Penrose, and C. L. Tutt—individuals whose vision helped shape Colorado Springs. Over the decades, the club welcomed distinguished guests including Chuck Yeager, Arnold Palmer, Beverly Sills, and Colin Powell, bringing remarkable experiences and fresh perspectives to our community.
The Broadmoor became the club’s permanent home during the 1950s, providing a beautiful setting for a tradition that generations of members have enjoyed.
On January 14, we will gather to honor that history and celebrate the people who continue to make The Winter Night Club special. It will be an evening to reconnect with friends, welcome new faces, and reflect on the enduring value of coming together around a dinner table.
Whether you have been a member for decades or are joining us for the first time, we hope you will help us mark this special occasion.

Robert Dale “Chef BB” Brunet
Author, Publisher, AI Technologist, Executive Chef and Dishwasher
Robert Brunet is a Louisiana-born entrepreneur, chef, author, publisher, and technologist whose unconventional career has taken him from the bayous of Southern Louisiana to the world of computing and emerging technology—and from professional kitchens to the Colorado Springs business and entrepreneurial community.
An eighth-generation Acadian (or Cajun), born in Houma, Louisiana and raised around New Orleans, Brunet grew up immersed in the food, music, humor, family traditions, and unmistakable culture of his Louisiana heritage.
In the wake of Hurricane Katrina in 2005, those roots followed him to Colorado Springs where he developed software for the USAF Satellite Control Network. He later became widely known as “Chef BB,” chef and owner of Momma Pearl’s Cajun Kitchen, named in honor of his mother, Marie Pearl “Momma Pearl” Theriot.
Today, writing as R. Dale Brunet, he explores storytelling, artificial intelligence, human agency, and the preservation of personal and cultural memory.
For the Winter Night Club’s Mardi Gras celebration, Chef BB returns to his Louisiana roots to share the stories, laughter, traditions, and lessons of a life “lived out loud” shaped by Mardi Gras—and what it has taught him about family, memory, gratitude, and the importance of letting the good times roll while we can.
